Tony Dimitri, Jr., 46, of Waverly Hall, Georgia, passed away far too soon on January 24, 2026, following a tragic accident.

Tony was a devoted husband to Lauren King Dimitri for nearly twenty years. Their love story began when they were in high school—she at Hardaway and he at Jordan—and grew into a life built on deep devotion and joy. He was an extraordinary father to Cayden Anthony (16) and Carrington Elizabeth (12), who were truly his world.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Coach Anthony Dimitri, Sr., who was not only his father but also his first and most influential coach. He is survived by his devoted mother, Jean Dimitri-Walburg, whose love and strength shaped his life, and his step-father, Don Walburg, who loved and supported him like he was his own son. Tony is survived by his twin brother, John, who stood beside him throughout his life, and his adored sister in law, Sarah. Tony treasured his nephews Will (16) and Luke (10), and his precious niece, Anna Claire (14). He is also survived by his in laws, Garry and Debbie King, who were like parents to him and whom he loved dearly. Tony is also survived by his step-sisters, Brittany Guthrie (Ryan) and Lindsay Summerlin (Ashley), and his step-brother, Blake Walburg.

Tony was more than a coach—he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend. He dreamed big dreams for his Harris County baseball team; dreams they will proudly carry on “Because of TD.” Wherever he coached—Monroe Area High School, Jordan, Russell County, Harris County—Tony was committed to leaving each team better than he found it. His legacy will live on in his family, his friends, his players, his fellow coaches, and in every life he touched.

Tony was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and backyard basketball star! And, much to Lauren’s disappointment, he was a rabid Alabama fan.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Cascade Hills. Rev. Thad Haygood of St. Luke Church, the Dimitri family’s home church, will officiate.
